Dr Damian Chung was born in Melbourne, Victoria, but grew up in Whyalla, South Australia. He relocated to Adelaide to begin study at the University of Adelaide, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1990.
After several years practicing dentistry in various states around Australia and in the UK, Dr Chung and his fiancee Julie moved to Port Lincoln. In 1998 a practice operating out of Jobomi House purchased, with plans to extend the hours on offer and to modernise the dental services provided. It was renamed Boston Bay Dental, but it wasn’t long before the practice outgrew the premises in Jobomi House and a new location was sought.
In March of 2004 Dr Chung shifted the practice and reopened as Park Terrace Dental at the current site. The circa 1905 sandstone villa was originally a Uniting Church manse and was superbly renovated to form the leading edge dental office it is today.
Dr Chung’s aim is to be at the leading edge of dental techniques and technology. His real passion with his dentistry is to be able offer his patients in Port Lincoln access to the profession’s latest treatment options at a level that is equal to anywhere available around the globe.
Dr Chung invests heavily in the the very latest technology available and backs this up with ongoing regular attendance at Australia’s leading conferences for dentists. The techniques he is particularly enthusiastic about are Cosmetic Rehabilitation, Implant Restoration (since 1993), Cerec CADCAM Ceramic Reconstruction (since 2002), Computer Guided Implant Placement (since 2007) and most recently 3D Conebeam Treatment Visualisation(2012).
Dr Chung has an interest in Rural dentistry and held the position of Country Councillor with the Austalian Dental Association (SA) for some years.
